I’m a PhD student in Dr. Donna Surge’s lab, investigating stable isotopes of carbonate shells in order to quantify recent climate change. My research focuses mainly on oxygen isotopes of modern limpets of the genus Nacella from the province of Tierra del Fuego in Southern Argentina. Understanding stable isotopes of modern Nacella limpets will allow for paleoclimate reconstructions to be made using archaeological¬†Nacella¬†limpets discarded by past civilizations.
